Always There

It's no secret to anyone who knows me how much I value sunshine. It's a given fact there is little of it during the winter months in Northeast Indiana, and December is no exception. Tuesday presented us with a gorgeous sunny afternoon preempted by over a week of gray followed by a 12 day gray prediction with no hint of the sun.

It occurred to me recently that even though we can't see the sun for long periods of time, it truly is there - always. It may be covered by clouds or rain or even snow, and yet it is always there underneath the coverage ready to shine at any time.

Isn't that the way it is with God? He truly is always there - even when we can't see Him or sense His presence. Even in the dark times of our lives, He is there - always.

As the new year begins, let us think on His presence as constant and consistent . . . a presence like no other . . . a presence available to us any time, any place, and in any situation.

I like knowing He is always there.

Navigation

Sometimes people and/or circumstances enter our lives to help us learn the art of navigation.

Home for the Holidays

Each member of our family was indeed "home for the holidays" this year! Adam, Rose, Ryan & Kyle were home in Santa Clarita; Paul & Devon, Maddy & Crosby were home in Encino; Micah, Carter & Campbell were home in Indianapolis; and Steve & I were home in Waterloo. The heartwarming Christmas carol takes on new meaning.

Sometimes

Sometimes life doesn't turn out like we thought it would.
